ABOUT

Wintersgate Entertainment is an independent film and television production company based in Bavaria, developing narrative features, series and short-form work for a German and international audience.

The company was founded in 2025 and works across two registers: genre material with scope — fantasy, science fiction, worlds built to be lived in — and contemporary stories told close to the people in them. What both have in common is that the writing comes first.

Wintersgate develops its projects in-house, from first draft to screen.

TASJA CATHRIN ROSÈ

Founder & Managing Director · Writer, Director, Producer

Tasja Cathrin Rosè founded Wintersgate Entertainment to develop the kind of material she kept not finding: genre work with something underneath it, and human stories told without sentiment.

She writes, directs and produces. Her series project Darkness & Fire placed in the top 10% on Coverfly and reached #12 on the Red List for one-hour fantasy television; her feature The Song That Brings Me Home, adapted from Maggie Tong's novel Ein Lied, das Heimat heißt, is currently in development with partners in Munich and Hamburg. She composes the scores for her own films.

Before founding the company she worked as an actress in German film and television. She holds a degree in Egyptology and is completing a second in Biology at LMU Munich — a background that shows up in her work more often than it should, usually in the research.

She is Creative Director of the global platform of Yes She Cannes and lives in Lower Bavaria.

SUSANNE REXHÄUSER

Co-Founder · Finance & Operations · Executive Producer

Susanne Rexhäuser brings three decades of operational management to Wintersgate. After completing a degree in business administration, she spent her career in the insurance sector, first in IT procurement, later in facility management, where she held a leadership position.

Most recently she built the company's IT contingency planning from the ground up — designing, for an insurer with 6,000 employees, the structures it would rely on if everything else failed.

At Wintersgate she oversees finance, contracts and administration, and serves as Executive Producer on selected projects. Film production runs on budgets, schedules and contingencies long before it runs on cameras — and that is the part she has been doing for thirty years.
